I took this common nighthawk at Childress Texas while visited a fellow photographer. We approached this guy with 500mm handhold though grass field taller than us. When we got to the desired distance, we made funny noise so it would open the eyes for kodak moment. This nightjar rests in day time and actives when night falls.
