Discovered a tufted titmouse nest by accident while searching for the barred owlet at White Rock Lake. The parent would bring in worm caterpillars to feed the new born but the number is hidden in a cavity so there’s no telling how many mouths they are feeding.
The picture was taken with some challenges on tough angle. The birds usually fly straight in without making any stops or a just a quick stage at the point of entry. It’s too close to the hole, busy background and not the angle i prefer. A vertical post like is pushing it.
In the picture, there’s a worm with brown shell and another appears to be a small green caterpillar wraps around the beak.
