Drake Lesser Scaup Airborne

Lesser Scaups are one of few commonly found wintering ducks in North Dallas area. They are plentiful and often tame in residential areas. It’s challenging for a duck flyer due to its small size, fast and erratic speed; not an easy subject to track in flight so getting this male scaup airborne in clean background is quite a treat.

This male diver came at me in full speed then made a sudden turn upward for a stop. I’m very impressed with the new 7D Mark II able to nail 90 percent of the sequence!
